Holy cow, where do I start?  Well, yesterday was the International Clean Up Day.  The morning started off quite normal.  Things were going good.  The weather cooperated so we decided to make a quick run past Horn Island to the Triple Rig.  So off we went.  We came through the pass and the waves picked up to about 3 to 4's, but we pushed on because it's not that long of a run.  Got out to the triple rig and tied up.  We split into two groups of three.  My two dive buddies and myself was the first group over the side.  We  were greated with about 66 million jellyfish, not quite that many, but there were plenty of them.  Got to the bottom in about 60 feet of water and there was a decent amount of fish on there.  We saw a nice mixed bag of fish.  To name a few, red snapper, mangrove "black" snapper, lane snapper, gag grouper, a small cobia, a red fish, a look down, of course spade fish galore, a few triggerfish, some blue tang's, and all kinds of small fish that I can't identify, LOL!!!.  Did I mention jellyfish?  Well anyways, we all got a dive in except for the sea sick diver, no names mentioned.  We went to crank up and leave and the starboard motor wouldn't start.  So we limped in to the island on the port motor.  Did our attempt to clean up the grass beds at Horn Island, but believe it or not, we only found one piece of trash.  We covered about 3/4 of an acre of sand and that was it.  One piece of trash!!! LOL!!!  We decided to call it a day and head in.  The starboard motor finally cranked, but wouldn't stay running when put into gear so we limped in the rest of the way.  We made it back to the dock finally about 5:30pm.  Long day at sea.  Had a great time.  There is another cleanup scheduled for October 17th if any of you are interested.  I am expecting this one to have a much larger turn out.  This one will be held in conjunction with the Coastal Clean Up.  So come on out and support a good cause by getting wet.  Until next time, Stay Wet and Stay Smiling.  Shrek

It was a long day but I had a good time, I don't think you are too far off on the number of jelly fish though. You forgot to mention that big ole stingray. It was good to meet some more folk from the board.

It was a good trip, think the problems made it as much fun as the diving. The motor problem wasn't anything bad as far as the trip, hope it's nothing serious with the motor though. Nope, we didn't find any trash. Guess Mississippi people are cleaner than we thought. The trip to the rig was great too, did Shrek mention the JELLYFISH.

Glad to hear the motor issue didn't dampen to many spirits because it dang sure aggrevated me.  WE got home safe is at that matters.  Hope to do it again real soon.  Like October 17th, we are scheduled to assist in the local side of it again.  So if anyone that went last time or didn't get to go, let me know if you are interested in that day.  I am going to try to get some of those pics or video from Mopika's wife and I'll post them on my FB fanpage, MSProScuba.  So keep an eye out for them.

Now that I think of it, when we dove the island I don't remember seeing any trash.  Maybe it gets pulled out with the tide?

Glad you guys had a good day of diving!  Sucks that one of the motors didn't want to run, at least you had another to fall back on!  I'm sure it's a clogged fuel line or something simple, gotta love boats!

Trying to get a head count if any of you are still planning on going Saturday.  Hoping new boat is ready, might not be so space may be limited if I have to take my small boat.  Let me know asap.  I've got monkeytunk for sure.  Anyone else?

Looks like the trip out is going to be canceled.  Might try to go next weekend or maybe one day this up coming week.  They are calling for 5 to 7 foot seas.  Not in my boat, LOL!!!  Can't control the weather. Was in Destin yesterday on a boat and it has already started getting rough there.  It was 5 to 7's on the way in, was only 2 to 4's on the way out.
