Went to the bay side of Fort Pickens in Pensacola today with Tommy and Kristi to do a search and recovery class.  The air temp was 50 degrees, the water 58.  The wind was about 25mph out of the north.  Vis was about five to ten feet at best.  The class was great and the water actually was not that bad.  Found lots of large starfish but did not disturb them.  I was just grateful to be diving.

Every dive is optional. Every ascent is mandatory.

3 mil suit, 3 mil hood, gloves, five mil booties, rash guards underneath.  It only got cold when we were getting out of the water to change out.

We are doing a "Polar Bear Dive" next month in Destin.  I will post the date as soon as I find out.

Polar Bear in Destin?  HAHA!!! I am watching ice chunks the size of a large pizza bounce off the shore of Lake Michigan up here in Chicago.  That would be a Polar Bear Plunge.  We did that in Iraq in the base swimming pool. Had to dive to the bottom of a 12 foot deep pool and return with a big rock.  The water was warmer than the air but not by much.  Even in Iraq it gets cold.  I think the high that day was like 30 degrees.  Are there going to certificates or even MEDALS?  LOL!!!  What about one for the most shrinkage, LMAO!!!!
