I don't know if any of you have ever gotten a chance to play with a remora, but don't.  My two buddies and I were scheduled to dive the Oriskany out of Pensacola,Florida on the 19th of October and we when we arrived at the shop, they had canceled the trip because of a small craft caution.  Well, not to be detered, we loaded back in the truckster and headed to Vortex.    So after we made it to the Vortex exit I phoned a friend of mine in Destin and she said they had room on their boat for a two tank at noon.  So we turned around and headed to Destin.  That was a long trip to just to end up in Destin.  Anyways, I was diving the Shoreline Reef in Destin with my buddies and we were in about 83 feet of water touring the reef.  Saw plenty of snapper and some small grouper, queen angels, butterfly fish and etc......  Then I thought I saw a small Cobia.  Nope, it was a remora, then another and then another.  There must have been like 20 or more of those dang things.  Well we continued our dive for awhile diving on our 100's and we headed for the anchor line.  As we began our ascent a pair of remoras began following us up the anchor line.  At about 60 feet the larger of the two started swimming around me and rubbing against my wetsuit.  I kept shoving him away and he'd come right back.  Well we got to 15 feet and began our 3 minute safety stop.  Well, it wasn't long before the bigger remora came back for some more petting.  With about a minute left on our stop and some serious harassment from this remora I had had enough, but we only had a minute left so I was going to stick out.  My buddies had been taking pictures the whole time of this dang thing screwing with me.  Low and behold the remora came from behind my head and bit me right on the left cheek and then sped off.  It freaking hurt for a minute.  I didn't realize that area was that tender.  He left a nice bite mark.  Looked like someone had kissed me.  My buddies of course dang near swallowed their regulators they were laughing so hard.  Even if the dive had sucked, they said that made the whole trip worth it to see me biten.  I cleaned it with alcohol swabs and it is healing okay, but I think I might be seeking some revenge next time I go spearfishing, LOL!  Take care all.

Most problems in diving originate with ourselves.
