Matt, I'd hate to tell you I'm interested, then have to ditch out on ya once again bro!

this weekend was a fluke. Engineering has been real slow lately, then all of a sudden it's balls to the wall.

Tommy and I are going on a boat dive out of Panama City this coming weekend. If we can swing babysitters for another weekend, I'll let you know. Sounds fun, though.

Hey Matt,

Are you thinking of driving over and back on Saturday? If so, I may be interested. Here's the tides for St. Andrews that weekend:

Tides for St. Andrew Bay Channel entrance starting with October 24, 2008.

Day        High      Tide  Height   Sunrise    Moon  Time      % Moon
           /Low      Time    Feet    Sunset                    Visible

F   24     High   6:36 AM     1.2   6:52 AM    Rise  2:44 AM      24
    24      Low   2:43 PM     0.6   6:02 PM     Set  3:34 PM
    24     High   9:36 PM     1.0

Sa  25      Low   3:16 AM     0.8   6:52 AM    Rise  3:44 AM      16
    25     High   9:04 AM     0.9   6:02 PM     Set  4:03 PM
    25      Low   1:31 PM     0.8
    25     High   8:32 PM     1.2

Su  26      Low   4:41 AM     0.5   6:53 AM    Rise  4:41 AM      9
    26     High   8:17 PM     1.4   6:01 PM     Set  4:32 PM

If we were to leave between 5 or 6 Saturday morning, that would put us there just after high tide at 9 (takes 4 hours from Biloxi). There's very little tidal range that day, so there should be little current even with the tide change. Viz probably won't be that great, though.

If you were talking about the Destin jetties, here's their tides:

Tides for East Pass (Destin) starting with October 24, 2008.

Day        High      Tide  Height   Sunrise    Moon  Time      % Moon
           /Low      Time    Feet    Sunset                    Visible

F   24     High   7:41 AM     0.6   6:55 AM    Rise  2:48 AM      24
    24      Low   3:59 PM     0.2   6:05 PM     Set  3:37 PM
    24     High  10:41 PM     0.5

Sa  25      Low   4:32 AM     0.3   6:56 AM    Rise  3:47 AM      16
    25     High  10:09 AM     0.4   6:04 PM     Set  4:06 PM
    25      Low   2:47 PM     0.3
    25     High   9:37 PM     0.6

Su  26      Low   5:57 AM     0.2   6:57 AM    Rise  4:45 AM      9
    26     High   9:22 PM     0.7   6:03 PM     Set  4:35 PM

High tide is a little later there at 10, so we wouldn't have to leave as early. Just let me know what you think.

Viz was almost Bahamas-like 2 weekends ago... night dive was awesome! easily 30+ foot viz, and that is great for jetties...

Yeah, I dove St. Andrews Aug. 30th and it was murky the first 15 feet of depth; but below that, viz opened up to about 35'. That's great for the jetties! There was about a foot of tidal range that day and I hit it just at high tide. On Oct 25th there will only be .10 foot of tidal range in the morning which won't do much as far as pushing back the bay water. Viz will probably all depend on the amount of freshwater run-off they have in the area that week.
