Some of you know because you were there this weekend at ABWA - but I finished my Dive Master Cert under watch ful eye and dutiful instruction of our own Don Wray. It was very enjoyable (not as fun as Rescue Diver) but very enjoyable if you can understand the difference ... because there is alot of real thinking that goes on. Dive Physics, Decompression Theory, Physiology required the dusting off of formulas, and scientific principles I had long forgotten, or at least didn't think would still apply after all these years, but they do! The physical stuff wasn't too bad I just had to train pretty regularly for about 4 weeks - swimming laps twice a day for 4 weeks. This was after i had already lost 65 pounds to be prepared to start this process. SO NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE THOSE PLANS TO TAKE THE PLUNGE TO RESCUE AND BEYOND TO DIVE MASTER... YOU CAN DO IT BY THE END OF NEXT SUMMER IF YOU START THE PROCESS NOW!!
If I did it you can too...it's never too late adn we're not getting any .....oh something what was it? oh yea, not getting any younger. start the process now..
WE also had 2 other students to get their OW cert and will be working with me in forming a dive rescue team as they continue to advance their trainingto serve Calhoun County and to serve our areas plus a couple surrounding counties that have no dive / rescue teams.
