Got water?

Ok, so I just received an email from someone that owns a scuba shop.  TUSA is running a special on fins and I thought I would try to pass it along to my buddies here on the board.  Before I can place the order I need to have a minimum of 5 sets of fins ordered, which shouldn't be too hard at the price I have for these fins.  FYI, the price I have here slashes the LP price, just PM me.

Here are the 3 types of fins that are available (PM me for the actual price, I cannot post it to the public!):

Tusa Xpert Zoom Split Fins - MSRP: $175 - LP has them for $149
Colors: Black, Blue, Red, Silver, White, Yellow

Tusa Platina Plus Urethane Fins - MSRP: $199 - LP has them for $179
Colors: Black, Tech Black, Silver

Tusa Tri Ex - MSRP: $99 - LP has them for $89
Colors: Cobalt Blue, Flash Yellow, Red, Black

I have that very set of xpert zoom fins.  If you can purchase at a lower price than shown here it would be a very good deal.  I love mine.  The only difference is I put spring straps on my fins.

How do you like the Zooms?  Are they stiff?  I tried on Keith's Scubapro splits and absolutely hated them!  I wonder if the Zooms would be the same?

No they are not stiff.  The do make a stiff set ( the all black ones I think ) I know two people with scubapro splits and I like the zooms a lot better.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to email this guy back and see about the stiffer set for myself.

If you are looking for the stiffer compound ask about the HBK Black fins.  They have Black and HBK Black so there is a difference.

I for one like the X-pert Zooms. Even though they are split in the middle, they have heavy side rails that keep them from being too flexible. I don't have the stiffer black Zooms, I have a pair of the regular blue ones. I'm still getting used to kicking them after using single blade fins for so many years. You have to use a different kicking technique.

I tried the ScubaPro Twin-Jet split fins also, but found them to be too flexible. They didn't seem stiff enough. I haven't tried the new ScubaPro Twin-Jet Max fins though. It seems like ScubaPro designed them to be a little stiffer than the original Twin-Jets using a combination of materials similar to the X-pert Zooms.

I wish this offer had come along sooner. My wife bought me my Zooms for Christmas and paid somewhere between the MSRP and LP price.

Modifing my answer they are stiffer than the scubapro splits as Bob said.  They are not near as stiff as the mares blade fins I trained with.

I have contacted the shop to verify a concern I had, here is the info for those that may be wondering.

The Zooms do come in a pure black which are stiffer than the others.   Wink
