We were talking about the alcohol issue at vortex. I was joking about spearfishing and in my opinion this statement was taken to seriously. I believe that it is obvious that you couldn't spearfish in there because too many people in an enclosed environment and because it is illegal in most states to shoot fresh water game fish such as catfish, bass, or bream.
The main reason I have no plans to dive vortex is:
1) I like to dive and spearfish. It is the reason I became certified in the first place.
2) I have heard more bad things than good from divers that have been there in the past.
Some of these thing may have changed I don't know. However I prefer to have saltwater across the gills. It is just as easy to pull the boats to the coast or Gulf Shores and accomplish both than to drive to Vortex. I have no good or bad opinion formed about the place as I have never been there. I stated that in the first of this thread.
