Lake Ouachaita, AR

I just read about this place in Scuba Diving Magazine. Not to far of a drive, about 7 hours from Jackson, 5 from Tupelo. (Chris would get the short drive for a change)

Crystal clear water, a submerged mountaintop with quartz veins. Depths up to 200' and numerous dive sites.

Anyone have a pontoon boat they would be willing to haul to that Arkansas spot? :)

I do but, when I was there the water wasn't what I'd call crystal clear....more like ok....viz about 10 feet

yeah, i've since read a different site that said 8-20, but with occasional vis up to 40' below the thermocline.

is it worth a trip?

We could go to Gary's (Long trip for Chris) dive and camp out over a weekend and it's IN MS. I'm considering going down this weekend.
