I'm not preaching solo diving.  It's an individual choice.  But this death wasn't a result of solo diving alone.  It was most likely a result of being prepared to dive solo in the conditions.  Lots of people dive solo in lots of different environments and survive.  In fact, some types of diving are safer as a solo (no specifics here, we can leave that for another thread).
