new member in sunrise

sunrise is a small rural community just east of the petal.ms city limits. i certified in 1985, then advanced to divemaster in 1990, enjoyed assisting with classes, but now, enjoy leisurely rcreational dives. attempt to travel internationally two weeks a year to dive and obtain appro. 15 dives per month(summer and early fall) off our ms. gulf coast. i own two boats, and always look for someone to share expenses on recreational dives. i'm also a licensed charter boat captain and occasionally book full paying pasengers. the larger boat is co-owned by a good friend/instructor/licensed captain/ dive shop owner(sea urchins dive shop in hattiesburg). on my property is a 3 acre spring fed lake/pond which he uses for a portion of his classes. water visibility at this time is appro. 7', max depth is 30', and is cold below 15'. looking forward to conversing and meeting people who enjoy diving. anyone who wishes to suck up air subsurface is welcome to contact me. gary.

Good talking to you this morning.
Welcome to the board.

Welcome Garry. :)

7' viz and 30 ffw? Wow! That's like being in Cozumel!

I'd love to come and play in your pond. It's the closest thing around here. :)

What are the specs on the boats? I think Craig (here on MSScuba) is associated with Sea Urchins.

Welcome to the board!  I'm sure we can easily put together an expense sharing trip... Just let us know!

Have any connections at the coast for lodging?

my pond/lake is open at no charge for any recreational activity to fellow divers as long as my property is respected, unfortunately you will have to sign a liability waiver until i know and trust you. boats- 27' boston whaler, 10.5' beam, twin inboard(gas)-25' wellcraft center console, 8.5' beam, 225 evinrude. have no connection with coast lodging but can find economical loging in pascagoula i.e. kings inn and others. i temporarily have an rv in gautier wher i stay, or i'll spend the night on petit bois or sand island. i'm usually on the water fri, sat, sun, or desperately want to be, if you want to go, pm me or email me, if i dont have a charter- we'll share expense on gas ,ice, etc. weather permitting.  if it sounds like i'm having a ball, it's because i am.  i know craig, have dove with him, he also assists with classes at my place, heck of a nice guy.

Gary,

That sounds reasonable to me. I'll sign whatever waivers. Are you going to be around next weekend? I know I'll need to do the Birthday thing with my wife but, I'm sure Sunday I could come down and meet up with ya. Maybe Frank will be well enough to head down with me.

Anyone else would be invited too, if that's okay with you. :)
