Hello from the panhandle
« on: August 03, 2007, 10:10:47 AM »
Hi, everyone!  I'm about to move to North Florida, where a lot of you folks travel to do some diving.  But after being in Arizona for so long, I just have a need to see where the inland waters that everyone dives are, as well.  Hoping to pick your brains and find out where else besides the coastline and the Florida springs everyone around here dives.  Also hope to be able to contribute to this forum as much as I can.  If you have any questions about any type of diving, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.  Just to let you know a little about myself, I'm a PADI instructor, cave diver, and trimix certified.  The reason I'm moving to Florida is to be closer to the caves I love to dive.  Once I'm in Florida, I'll be working to get my tech instructor rating, as well as my cave instructor rating.  I also plan on going through the GUE Fundies course sometime soon.  If anyone is ever looking for a dive buddy, let me know.  I work odd hours and can usually swing a dive most anytime - weekend, weekdays, middle of the night!  Hope to meet a lot of you face to face soon!

Hey hey!

Welcome and I'm glad you made it here.

Hopefully we can all get together and do some boat or spring diving.

See you in a few weeks.

Michael

Welcome to the board!

It's good to have you here!  I'm sure Michael will pick your brain... I don't think he knows whether or not he wants to be a tech diver... time will tell!  I personally wouldn't mind taking deep diving and deco classes.  I probably wouldn't make those types of dives often but who knows :)

Hey, Michael.  I tried to get over here last night at work, but their servers blocked me.  >:(

Oh, well.  I'm on now.  Looking forward to browsing around the site when I have a chance.

Frank, thanks for the welcome.  Michael and I have talked on other boards.  That's how I found out about this place.  It will be nice to get a local perspective.  Let me know when you want to go diving.  Not all my dives are deep or deco.  My name is Rob.  I finally got my sig line to load.

Chris, I sure will.  Hope to meet you for a dive sometime.

Hey, just because I'm an instructor doesn't mean I know everything.   ;)  I'm new to your area, so I'm sure there are some things you can teach me about local diving.  I've done a bunch of diving in the Marianna, FL area, but haven't ventured out of that area much, so I'm ready to be introduced to new sites, especially the OW sites.  There might even be some shore diving techniques specific to the gulf coast that I'm not familiar with.

Me too. I live in Guntown. About 1.5 hrs south of Memphis. We can dive some catfish ponds together.  ;D
