From our August newletter:

BLACKBEARD'S CRUISES, BAHAMAS

One of our old time favorites is once again part of our Easy Diver schedule.  For an action packed, fun, best value going trip, plan to join co-group leaders: Randy Clark and Don Wray for a week of fancy camping at sea.  With the boat departing from Freeport, that first dive comes moments after stepping aboard.  You can count on 3-4 dives per day, plenty of food served buffet style, and some of the prettiest diving in the Bahamas.  Trip fee includes: cruise, port tax, park fee, fuel surcharge, pre trip party and scuba review, customized itinerary and packing list, travel amenity gift, and Easy Diver Staff supervision.
TRIP FEE:   $1009
DEPOSIT:    $250 non refundable at time of reservation
PAYMENT:  $400 by January 24
BALANCE:   Due 60 days prior to departure

These will go quick guys.....easy payment plan and fantastic trip.

What exactly does that line mean?  Payments must be $400 at a time?

No, It means at least $650 of the amount must be paid by that date.  The balance of the 1099 by March 24 or so.  She is easy to work with though and if you're interested give her a call in a couple of weeks.  She's in the Keys diving with a group right now and then off to Chicago or somewhere the following week.  You can email her at SaralynnT@aol.com and she can give you the exact details.  She handles all the business and I just dive.  The website is www.easydiversmemphis.com

Not knocking other trips but just in comparison, $1099 for 18 to 20 dives, or $475 for 7 dives at the Flower Gardens, which is not a bad deal either.

I'd love to have ya'll along because the more experienced divers I get, the less work I have to do. ;D

i've been wanting to go on a blackbeard cruise for a couple of year now. how deep are those dives? seems like we could get a lot more dives in if we are on a liveaboard with nothing else to do?

the LDS in Jackson does a trip on a liveaboard out of key west. they say you can get up to 8 dives a day because the average depth is around 30'.

how do the reefs in the bahamas compare to around the keys?

The dives vary in depth.....average around 50 to 80 feet.  Most of the coral heads you visit have tops around 40 feet and the sand deeper.  I've been very deep and then say the road to Atlantis, is around 13 feet.  5 dives a day are tiring.  I've just learned this trip in May has been cancelled due to lack of reservations.  We will be scheduling new trips shortly and looks like Cozumel is the destination.  I can't compare Bahamas to the Keys but you can see alot of underwater photos in my gallery on this site of the diving aboard both Blackbeards and the Juliet.
