Diving in Pensacola.
« on: July 31, 2007, 01:10:55 PM »
I have not been able to get a hold of Frank to pass this by him but, I talked with Captain Tim of http://www.vikingdivingpensacola.com/viking_diving_new_010.htm and he is free the 18th and 19th of next month. I asked him if I was able to fill up the boat, 6 divers, if we could get a discount. He said that if I got 6 people to sign up and come, he'd only charge us 540.00 TOTAL for the three tank dives. They are 100.00 a piece if there are not 6 people. I figured that these could be some good dives for beginners and more advanced divers.

If you are interested in doing this dive, please post here so we can get a tally of who is interested.

Michael

Ok here's the Pricing:

3 tank dive, $90 head if we fill the boat, $100 head if we don't.
- Those without tanks, $7 extra per dive, so $21 extra for tanks.

Lodging, $60 per head, this covers two nights and cleaning fees.
- Condo is in Perdidio Key, which is 20-40 minutes from Pensacola.

Other costs, Gas is the only unknown at this point, depending on what vehicles we take etc...

Is there any possible way to do this trip the weekend after?  It's really up to those that are willing to go...

Kdawg (Keith) will be in Rescue class the weekend of the 18th and 19th and will be unable to attend.  I'd like to schedule it on a weekend that is convenient for everyone.

Also, for another $90 we could do 2 night dives as well, which would make 5 dives in one day.  It's really up to everyone else, if we can get all 6 divers to agree to go, I'm sure we would get a discount on that as well.

I couldn't do the extra 90.00. I'm going to have a hard enough time keeping money for the cost down there plus the dives that close to the end of the month. That's why I suggested the 18th/19th. That'll be a tight squeeze it's self.

i'd be interested in this except for that I'll be in Florida the 31st of August till Sept 3rd diving. So that'd be alot of driving. But if we'd wait a couple weeks I'd definately like to go.

Uhm, that sucks. In September, I'm considering taking an AOW course, so that would deplete my funds for diving charter.

I guess we'll play it by ear and see what kind of a response we get. Maybe we can fill the boat up next month and then in September we'll see what it looks like. If we need one more person, I may decline the AOW and go dive.

For those who want to go, we need a 50% deposit to secure your spot.  If you back out, you lose the deposit, for obvious reasons (hey, we're booking a room and a boat, we pay for it regardless).

100% payment is due 1 week before the trip, or before we hit the road.

----
Itinerary:

Friday - Drive to Perdido Key, stay the night
Saturday morning - Wakeup, drive to Pensacola, grab the boat to the dive sites WE choose.  We'll most likely be back by 3pm.
Saturday afternoon - We can do a beach dive if you guys want...

Sunday - We can do more beach dives, or head to Ponce de Leon and do a fresh water dive in Morrison springs (it's free), this can count as your gear rinse if you wish.
----

So far, $150 for 2 days of diving, 3 of the dives will be boat dives on sites we select.

Sites I would recommend: Russian Freighter, 3 mile barge, Pete Tide

Frank's post above is set and the date is the 18th.

So, send me a check, cash or paypal + 3% and I'll get the boat booked.

Actually, we waited to long. The 18th was bought by people wanting to go to the big "O".

He has the 25th and the 1st open. If either of those days will work, I need to know ASAP so I can secure the boat. Then I need payments ASAP too.

Don't feel to bad, it seems as though no one is interested so I guess we'll call it off. I may try to head over to ABWA the 25th and then the 31st through the 3rd, I'll be in Fort Morgan.
