In May, went to Daytona Beach and took AOW with Sea Dogs in New Smyrna Beach. Wonderful outfit. During the course, all my dives except navigation were on wrecks. Deepest dive 99 feet on the Mindinow, a WWII Liberty ship. We made 4 dives on 3 different wrecks. 600 # Goliath groupers, flounder, barracuda, jacks, angels etc. Just multitudes of fish plus invertabrates. Sea Cucumbers, Star fish, aneomes, Great dives.
In June, went to Fort Lauderdale and dove with Loggerhead out of Boynton Beach. Due to a tropical depression heading in, I only got in 2 dives on Kroener's Reef. 100 + viz. Nurse sharks, 7 ft. Bull shark, turtles, parrotfish, convicts, angels, moray eels to name only a few. Huge barrel sponges and lots of coral. Wonderful dives. 70 fsw and 80 degrees.
I'm planning on going back to New Smyrna in August and taking wreck, deep and night diving specialties.
Went on a cruise to the western Caribbean in February and dove Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel. Great dives. Lots of scenery.
Going on another cruise over Christmas to the eastern Caribbean and plan several dives there.
After going to Cozumel for 6 months in February of next year, I am going to visit my cousin for a vacation in Manila. He is BOW and we plan to dive the Phillipines, Great Barrier Reef and Truk lagoon.
