My new tank, PST X8-130 (HP130)
« on: June 19, 2007, 03:55:32 PM »
Well, what a good find this was!  I've been searching a site online called Craigslist.com for a few weeks now looking for good deals on used gear.. Well, a few weeks back I found a KILLER deal.  You've all heard about the great buoyancy characteristics of steel tanks.. Well, that's what I found!

The tank was located in Huntsville, AL, for $150!!!  It was purchased by the lady selling it; she was peer pressured into purchasing it by her ex-boyfriend.  Lucky me!  I ended up contacting one of my recent dive buddies that lives in.... you guessed it, Huntsville, AL!  He picked it up for me, dropped it off at MBT divers in Pensacola, FL.  It's now been O2 cleaned and filled with 32% nitrox.

Total tank cost w/ O2 cleaning: $187.  Retail cost for this tank and O2 cleaning: $487.    JACKPOT!

Shame you didn't get a chance to check the full vs. empty buoyancy changes while you were away Saturday.

You need to tell the rest of the story. That will decrease the amount of a great deal it was.

The problem wasn't with the tank, it was with the service that I had on it for O2 cleaning from MBT divers.  Still a good deal.  It seems someone is a little upset over the whole issue, I know for one it's not me... water under the bridge IMO.

Great deal no doubt. So, The problem was with work done at MBT. I got ya. ITs all good now. Why don't you let me use the tank until the doctor clears you for diving again.

If you find a similar deal let me know....I'm looking for a couple of 120's or 130's.

LP or HP? I know where two LP120s are. Never touched the water. He paid 360 a piece for them. I'm not sure what he will take for them though. He's accepting offers.

If you don't mind LP 120's you might want to take a look at Pierces post from awhile back.  I talked to him a few weeks back and he still had everything...  They are doubled up but you could easily break them out :D
