Hi all...My name is Don Wray and I'm retired.  I live on the north side of Sardis Lake in Harmontown.  Currently hold AOW and nitrox, but begin my Emergency First Response, CPR and Rescue next Monday.

Welcome to MSscuba Don!

Sardis Lake uh? My fiance` and I (with some of her family and friends) are considering taking our boats and camping equipment up to Sardis. Is there any diving there? (My soon to be brother-in-law is also a diver, we could bring our gear.)

I'm glad you found us and I'm sure, if you read the last few posts, you know what I'm going to ask next. How did you find MSscuba? I think the most have been from http://www.scubaboard.com. I need to look again. :)

Again, welcome to MSscuba and congrats on the AOW and nitrox. (I'm considering taking my nitrox this next week.) I may wait on the AOW until I get to 20 dives or so. I'd hate to take the course and have to wait till I get the dives in.

Thanks and enjoy your stay,

Michael

Well Don, welcome to the board!  I'm glad you found us, and hopefully real soon we'll have more dive trips posted and alot more members.

We're always looking for places to dive (as long as the boss (wifey) allows us to dive).  So if you have any good dive spots, please fill us all in!

Take care, and hope to hear from you again soon!

The diving here varies with the viz alot, and it's never all that good.  I did see your site on scubaboard.  I hang around there alot when I not off diving or something.

Very good. I'm glad to hear (see?) that we are being seen on there. I hope they don't think we are trying to take away divers, we just want some exposure. :)

Bad vis? :( Where do you go diving?

I work fulltime for a company out of Ripley, MS.  I'm not sure how close that is to where you live, but maybe we can dive where ever it is you dive if I ever visit corporate office.

Ripley isn't too far.  I am in the process of converting my pontoon boat over to a dive boat.  As soon as I finish Rescue in a few weeks, I'll have time to go out and find some dive spots on the lake.  I usually try to find an inexpensive plane ticket and jump on a plane to dive.  I like to be able to see something other than logs and catfish.  I just got back from Fort Lauderdale a couple of weeks ago and Daytona Beach in May.  I dive alot with Easy Divers and we take dive trips every couple of weeks.  We're going to Mermet Springs in Illinois the last weekend of this month and Lake Ouchita in Arkansas the following Wednesday.  Memet has a 727 in 50 feet plus several small planes and helicopters, trucks etc.  120 ffw deep but real cold at depth.  Ouchita is at Hot Springs and viz is ok but still not alot to see.

Hey, Don.

I'm over in Pontotoc and looking for a new buddy.  Been thinking about going over to Smith Lake in AL and maybe up to Bay Springs (iffy) in the near future.  Interested?  Let me know and we will try to work something out.
