got a call this morning. someone had lost thier keys in canebrake lake. this early i knew it was going to be cold. loaded up all my gear, including my 5 mil farmerjohn and jacket hoping this would be enough. arrived at the lake the girl showed me where she lost the keys. i had to get mentally ready for some cold water, she told me a guy snorkeled the day before and got hypotherma.  so geared up walked to the edge of the pier told myself just jump so i did and not to bad cold but i have been colder at vortex. after getting use to the water down i went. i went into barly one ft vis. got to the bottom set my line for my search area and got started. i found the keys on top of the mud in 5 min. couldn't believe it. the water was way warmer than i had thought and the dive ended up being great. so happy to get back to diving after a long hard winter.
