i took a class to vortex and pensacola this weekend. may be the last trip of the year
at vortex we arrived fri afternoon the vis was poor maybe 30ft. as normal it was cold while doing skills.. i had advanced students that did a night dive it was nice.
sat we went to the russian freighter,. this was a great dive. we used both tanks there. my students wanted more. they were't able to look around much as they were doing compass work and mapping. the sea life was fantastic with vis about 40ft.
sun we went to the mighty o. i had some master divers with me that have been all over diving and they rated this dive a 8.5 out of 10 for their best dive. descending to the o we had a vis of 80ft great vis. being the only boat out there our first dive allowed us to see the most and biggest sea life i have ever seen at once. amberjack, grouper, and barracuba all over the place. i recommend this dive to anyone or the cheveron rig. dalton kennedy took us both days he was great. if you need a 6pack in pensacola use dalton. fast boat and a great capitan. forgot to mention the temps. sat the ride out was a little nipppy. the surface was 68 andthe bottom was 72 both days. i was very comfortable in a 5mil
